OpenPeak’s Advanced Device and Application Manager (ADAM) provides comprehensive mobile device and application management as a cloud hosted service. ADAM’s capabilities include pushing and removing apps, setting policies for passwords, configuring VPNs, defining policies, and locking and wiping a device remotely. The entire service may be hosted and the interface to ADAM is web-based. ADAM comprises three separate products: SANCTION, SECTOR, and OPENSHOP. Each component may be deployed individually to complement pre-existing device and network management configurations, or together as a complete end-to-end Device, Application, and Profile Management solution. |

Consumer devices invade
the workplace
The relatively recent introduction and unprecedented adoption rate of smartphone and tablet devices, as well as the proliferation of apps that run on them, is creating a new and unique challenge for IT managers. Managers must now contend with a vocal workforce that expects the ability to use the personal computer, smartphone and tablet devices of their choice while working from their offices, homes, or on the road. While this new “bring-your-own-device” movement has resulted in some equipment cost reduction benefits at the budgetary level, it has also created a new set of challenges for IT managers who obviously remain responsible for corporate communications, security, policy management, integration and service levels.

OpenPeak ADAM provides
the solution
OpenPeak has developed OpenPeak ADAM to successfully address the emerging challenge of consumer devices in the workplace. ADAM's architecture offers both end-user flexibility and corporate controls that enterprise IT managers are seeking.
The cloud-based ADAM platform can be leveraged across a wide variety of hardware platforms and operating systems, creating a cohesive ecosystem with remote management capability. Using the OpenPeak ADAM Administration Portal, enterprises can push or remove apps, update firmware, change provisioning data, force reboots and perform system diagnostics.
The same system may be used to deploy new services across a wide range of vertical platforms, including telephony, security systems for home monitoring applications, utility providers for energy management use and healthcare monitoring services. Server-based software can reach out to groups of client devices to perform operations.
Along with remote device management, OpenPeak ADAM enables a web-based tiered management model whereby management of groups of devices may be delegated to enterprise customers who may then further delegate the management of sub-groupings of devices within their own organizations. Within each tier, an administrator can control all devices and apps within their group using a simple and secure administration portal.
Small and large enterprises can now ensure that each department or specific team has access to the most up-to-date business applications, while at the same time restricting access to non-business-related apps and services on corporate-owned devices as needed. Not only does this improve productivity and efficiency, but it also reduces the risk of a security breach as a result of questionable apps on individual devices. |

Tiered Management
Along with remote device and application management, ADAM enables a tiered management model for resellers, service providers, and enterprises whereby management of groups of devices may be delegated to customers who may then further delegate the management of sub-groupings of devices within their own organizations. Within each tier, an administrator can control all devices and apps within their group using a simple and secure administration portal.
OpenPeak ADAM simplifies managing large groups of devices by allowing an administrator to create bundles: a collection of applications, device settings, and configuration information that can be applied to a group of devices. For example, a sales bundle can contain applications and policies for sales staff. |
